The Evangelical Church from Zenica, together with its partner organizations, began its activities in 2008 in Vares, a small town, northeast of Sarajevo, about 45 km away.

Vareš is one of the 12 cities belonging to the ZE-DO canton. Although geographically, politically, and economically throughout history, it has been quite neglected, it seems forgotten by everyone, we believed and we believe that God has not abandoned it or forgotten it. God puts it on the hearts of the believers of the Evangelical Church from Zenica to actively serve and show his love in a tangible way to Vareš, a small town that has incredible natural resources, a beautiful nature that leaves us breathless when we observe it, not to mention the people.

Those who had the opportunity to meet the people of Vareš are witnesses that they are hospitable, benevolent people, open to everyone, regardless of religious, national, or ethnic affiliation. They have survived a lot; from war, poverty, and human and political rejection, and yet they remain people with hearts that want to give, want to show their humanity, want to show their value.

Through all these years of activities of the Evangelical Church in Vares, we can only say that God does not do anything by chance. He is not guided by human plans and strategies but by his own. He did a lot for this city, for these people, and still does.

The Evangelical Church from Zenica, in cooperation with its partners, organized and implemented many projects in Vares, and we will list only a few: help to unemployed married couples with children, packages for children, food packages for socially vulnerable people, distribution of seeds, wood, children's camps, excursions, meals of love for the children of Vareš and many other activities that are related to the material but also spiritual help.

The Evangelical Church is open to all people who want and need to be encouraged through spiritual support, through God's action in their lives. Everything will pass; suffering, trouble, and poverty, but His love is eternal.
