Your Father is cheering for you!

And do not lead us into temptation but deliver us from the Evil One!

It is usually said that faith is a private matter, also that prayer is a private matter for each of us. Somehow, it is often felt that it is simply distasteful to ask someone how much they pray or how much they read the Bible. I wonder if we are afraid of someone’s answer, maybe because they would embarrass us? Or we are simply afraid that someone, in turn, will ask us the same thing. I don’t know how much anyone prays, but I don’t think I’ll be wrong if I say that most of us don’t pray enough.

One of the reasons for this state of affairs is that Satan is fighting in every possible way to separate us from prayer. He tells us that we are incompetent or dirty to pray, that all this is in vain, that the prayer is overrated, that we are wasting time, and that nothing happens anyway, whether you pray or not. You have heard all these many times before.

I want to say a few things. First of all, for a Christian, prayer is never a private matter! Whenever you kneel to pray, the absolute minimum of persons involved at that moment is 4: Father, Son, Holy Spirit, and you! This is already starting to look like fun! But it doesn’t end there. Of course, there is the aforementioned devil who comes to distract you: thoughts wander, the phone rings, a neighbor shouts, a child breaks into the room… So, Father, Son, Holly Spirit, Satan, yourself; there are already 5 of you!

If you really push hard, others get involved too! Ephesians 6:12 says that “we wrestle not against men, but against rulers and authorities, against the powers of darkness; against the evil spiritual forces in the heavenly spaces.” So, we “trampled” on even more individuals!

And then, according to how Jesus teaches us to pray, through the words “Our Father”, “our bread”, whether we want to or not, knowingly or not, we include the people dear to us: family, friends, brothers, and sisters.

So, when you start praying, you pray to the Father, through the Son, in the power of the Holy Spirit, there is Satan, there are Principalities, Powers, and the rest of the team, there is also the “cloud of witnesses” from Hebrews 12 and you can be 100% sure that somewhere close is some angel to help you fulfill God’s purpose for your prayer, that you will bless and be blessed. So, it’s a complete party!

Therefore, don’t let the devil put thoughts in your head that your prayer is worthless. It mobilizes the crowd!

Your Father is rooting for you!
