Proverbs 16:9

A man's heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.

There is a big difference between our planning and God's direction. Would you have believed it if someone had told you 20, 10, or 5 years ago that you would be in this place? Is that good or bad? Are you where you want to be?

20 years ago I thought I had a plan for my life. It was a good plan. Then, suddenly, another possibility opened up, and I found myself in a dilemma. Asking the Lord to guide me, he led me to these very verses. Everything was clear to me. My heart planned one way, but He wanted to lead me to another. The path I was thinking of was a good path, but this one was better. Not more manageable, but better. Although I've questioned the correctness of my decision countless times, I'm still here, on the same path, and I don't regret it - on the contrary.

I wonder how many lives these verses have changed. Maybe you need a change too. Leave it to the Lord to direct your steps. A person makes many decisions in life, but the great comfort lies in the fact that you can count on the Lord to direct your steps.

Lord, thank you for having a way for me. The path of peace and hope. The path that leads to the best future for me. I am asking You to help me distinguish between the plans that come from me and the directions that come from You. I am asking you to lead me on your way.
